How the currency split calculator works
List the people and each cost with who paid it and the currency it was paid in. Choose one currency to settle in, then enter an exchange rate for each currency used. The calculator converts each cost, splits it equally, and shows who owes whom in the currency you chose, with the rate used for each cost.
A worked example
Ana pays 300 EUR for the hotel, Ben pays 60 CHF for lunch and Cem pays 40 GBP for a taxi. At the example rates in the tool, the total is 409.20 EUR, so each share is 136.40 EUR. Two payments settle it: Cem pays Ana 89.60 and Ben pays Ana 74.00.
About the rates
The starting rates are examples only, not live rates. Type the real rate for the day you paid (your bank, or the European Central Bank). Rates are approximate, and card fees are each person's own.

Frequently asked questions
Where do I get the rate?
From your bank or card statement, or the European Central Bank's daily reference rates. Use the rate for the day of the cost.
Does this fetch live rates?
No. Nothing is sent from your browser, so you enter the rates yourself.
Should I split card fees?
Usually not. Each person's fees are their own, and a single agreed rate keeps things simple.
