Who we are
Evens is made by AllEvens, [legal company name and registered address]. Contact: contactus@allevens.com. We are the controller of the personal data described here.
What we collect
- Account: name, email, and your sign-in method (email and password, Google, or Apple). Optional two-factor authentication. Your default currency and optional payout details (such as a Venmo handle) that you choose to add.
- Your groups: group names, members (display names), costs, how they are split, comments, payments and the history of changes.
- Photos: receipt photos you attach to a cost and your profile photo. We re-encode photos and remove their location and camera data. Photos are kept in private storage and are shown only to people allowed to see that cost.
- Receipt scanning: if you scan a receipt, the photo is sent to our receipt-reading provider (Anthropic) only to read the items. The scan itself does not store the photo. We keep a record that a scan happened, to apply limits.
- Notifications: your push notification token and your notification settings.
- Purchases: Pro and Trip Pass purchases are handled by the App Store or Google Play and our purchase provider (RevenueCat). We receive the fact that a group has Pro, not your card details.
- Usage data: only if you choose "Allow" on the first-launch card: counts of actions such as "cost added", with no content of your groups. Nothing is sent before you answer.
- Guests: people who join from a link get a private link token. Guests and the website are never tracked for analytics.
Why we use it
- To run the app: show balances, send notifications, and keep your groups in sync (contract).
- To keep it safe: prevent abuse, apply limits, fix errors (legitimate interests).
- To understand and improve the app, only with your consent.
- To meet legal obligations.

What other people in your group can see
Members of a group see its costs, comments and balances. Guests see only their own group and only the costs they are part of. Nobody sees your email address. Payment details are shown only to people who owe you.
How long we keep it
- Your account data is kept until you delete your account.
- Deleted costs can be restored for 30 days, then they and their photos are removed.
- When you delete your account we erase your login, profile, payout details, settings, notification tokens and profile photo. Group history stays for the other members: your member becomes "Deleted user", and costs and comments you wrote remain.

Your rights
You can export your data (JSON) and delete your account from the app, and you can ask us to correct your data or object to how it is used. If you are in the EU, UK or Israel, you have the rights set out in the GDPR and local privacy law, including complaining to your data protection authority. Write to contactus@allevens.com and we will reply within 30 days.
This website
This website uses no cookies and no analytics. The calculators run in your browser and nothing you type is sent to us. Our host keeps standard server logs.
Children
Evens is not for children under [age to be confirmed].
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before it applies.
